Seventeen gig cancelled

According to The Alarm Archive, the band Seventeen—formed in Rhyl in 1978 and later the precursor to The Alarm (featuring Mike Peters)—had a gig scheduled at the Coach House Club in Huddersfield on 27 July 1980, supporting The Scene. However, that performance was cancelled, reportedly due to an ongoing DHSS dole violation investigation affecting the band.

The band members were all officially unemployed at the time, and the Department of Health and Social Security had hauled them in, stating that by playing gigs, they were actually working.
